Over the last year Dr Rhian Noble-Jones, a researcher and lymphoedema therapist with Lymphoedema Network Wales, has been working in partnership with the International Lymphoedema Framework, on a Tenovus Cancer Care funded project on genital oedema-related education need. Specifically, an international survey completed by over 580 healthcare professionals from 31 different countries describing their education need to manage this patient group better. At the same time, focus groups and less formal group discussions in the UK, USA and Australia sought to understand the context of managing genital oedema in each country.
What you will learn? This webinar will share the treatment techniques lymphoedema therapists are using and how confident professionals are feeling in the skills and knowledge described as essential by most respondents. The topics were both practical and theoretical and included psychosocial, legal and ethics aspects.
Why you should participate? Assessing and managing genital oedema is cognitively, emotionally, and, at times, physically challenging. Most lymphoedema therapists see insufficient numbers to feel entirely confident in all the decisions made. Few can articulate their education need to help make the experience better, for them and their patient. This webinar brings that opportunity, as well as the prospect of discussing useful learning resources and top tips with the presenter.
