When we care for others it has an impact on us. This webinar will explore the impact caring has on the carer, and what can be done to help.
Compassion Fatigue has been described as the “cost of caring" for others in emotional and physical pain. (Figley, 1982). This webinar will explore compassion fatigue in three stages. Firstly a discussion around the broader context of compassion, its definition and a model of understanding. Secondly a discussion around the construct of ‘compassion fatigue’; how to recognise, understand and treat. Lastly an examination of self-compassion. It’s role in the foundation of all compassion experiences and in the response to fatigue.
