General Information

The 2021 ALA Symposium will be held from 14 – 16 May at the Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort, Gold Coast. With the theme, ‘Exploring new pathways’, the 2021 Symposium will highlight innovative ideas and research in lymphoedema management, providing attendees with the latest knowledge and skills to benefit their practice.

Climate

Spring is a popular time to visit the Gold Coast. Sunny days are followed by mild evenings and average temperature range is 17oC to 24oC.

Directions

From Surfers Paradise beach, drive along the Gold Coast Highway north and follow the signs to Sea World. From Southport, cross the Southport Bridge, turn left and follow the signs. If you’re travelling from Brisbane, follow the signs to the Pacific Motorway and the Gold Coast.

Taxis

Taxi ranks are located at each airport terminal. To make a prior pick up arrangement, contact Yellow Cabs 131 924 or Black and White Cabs on 131 008.

Train and Bus

You can catch a train directly from either the Brisbane Domestic, Brisbane International, and in Brisbane city heading to the Gold Coast. On the Gold Coast itself, the train will stop at Helensvale where you can catch a separate train (G:link) to Main beach station. The resort is a 10-minute drive from there.

A number of buses operate from surfers paradise into Southport Spit, which is close to the Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort.
